Short Short Film Festival Mexico, Avelino Rodriguez, Director of the Head THE LIFT, awarded the winning real Grant @ thelift that the production launched in collaboration with organizers of the festival with the intention of providing young students of the country the opportunity to develop their film projects and be advised by a staff of specialists in film class.
- The winning project is titled The Underdogs , and is a documentary that follows the lives of three people working in the metro of Mexico City, which they see the light of day rarely, a chauffeur, a policeman and a salesman. Along with their stories, each on a separate line (Tasqueña "Cuatro Caminos, Pantitlán-Centre and University-Indios Verdes), exploring the parts of the city through which they pass, but they never see, because have to work under them.
- This project seeks to portray the image of an "underground city", in which there are stories that can often go unnoticed or seem irrelevant to a large number of people.
